In einer der letzten Ausgaben des RockIt! gab's einen "Tour Talk" mit Krypteriadrummer Kusch.

Hier alle Fragen und Antworten:

Q: Das Langweiligste auf Tour ist:
A: Langweilig? Eine Tour???

Q: Ich bekämpfe die Langeweile auf Tour mit:
A: Kopfkino

Q: Das Schlimmste für mich auf Tour ist:
A: Das sinnbefreite Dauergefasel des Bassisten

Q: Das Schönste für mich auf Tour ist:
A: Wenn der Bassist ausnahmsweise mal die Klappe hält

Q: Tourbus oder Hotel?
A: Was immer der Job erfordert - aber so ein Hotelzimmer hat schon viel Schönes

Q: Clubshow oder Festival?
A: Hauptsache "on the road"

Q: Auf Tour habe ich immer dabei:
A: Teer und Federn für den Bassisten

Q: Absolutes Tabu im Tourbus ist (neben der Benutzung der Bordtoilette für das große Geschäft):
A: Den Schlaf eines anderen vorsätzlich zu stören

Q: Mein bester Augenblick bei einem Gig:
A: Als beim Wacken 60.000 Hände schon bei unserem Intro oben waren - ein guter Anfang!

Q: Das Peinlichste, was mir je Abseits der Bühne passiert ist:
A: Am Flughafen in Mexico City in die Knie zu gehen. Da war der Getränkeservice auf dem Hinflug wohl ein bisschen zu gut gewesen. Moment, was sag ich denn da? Es lag natürlich an der Höhenluft!

Q: Das Schönste, was mir je auf Tour passiert ist:
A: What happens on the road stays on the road

Q: Das am meisten verkannte Mitglied der Band:
A: Unser Basser Frank - ein Vollbekloppter vor dem Herrn, aber, Mann, kann der spielen!

Q: Der schlimmste Tourbus, den wir jemals hatten:
A: Nichts schlägt das ehemalige ,,Hotel" beim Metalcamp in Slowenien

Q: Der schlimmste Hass-Fraß auf Tour war (Ort, Zeit, Menü):
A: Ich spreche lieber über das beste Catering: Hamburg/Docks, Dortmund/FZW, Pratteln/Z7, Gampel/CH, Seoul/Catchlight. Aber mittlerweile bekommt man in vielen Venues wie auch auf den meisten Festivals Schmackhaftes auf den Tisch

Q: Das schlimmste Rattenloch, in dem wir jemals spielten:
A: Nichts gegen den Laden, der ist ok, aber ein Winterfestival im Bad Arolsener Outback ist kein Vergnügen. Besonders wenn die einzige Garderobe verschlossen ist und man sich bei Minustemperaturen quasi in der Eingangstür umziehen darf

Q: Die ekelhaftesten Duschen und Toiletten fanden wir vor in:
A: Kauhajoki/Finnland beim Nummirock Open Air...alter Schwede!!!

Q: Die schlimmste Pass- und Zollkontrolle passierte mir in ...
A: ...Ho Chi Minh City/Vietnam. Dort standen dermaßen viele bewaffnete Militärs, dass wir uns Sorgen um unsere Heimkehr machten...besonders als der Bassist auf die Idee kam, seinen üblichen Schabernack mit einem der Soldaten zu treiben

Q: Das unfreundlichste Personal trafen wir an in ...
A: ...Bad Brückenau auf der Deep-Purple-Tour 2006. Das Problem war allerdings nicht das Hallenpersonal, sondern einige Crewmitglieder von Uriah Heep. Die zelebrierten nach bereits beendetem Soundcheck erst mal einen ausgiebigen Privatjam - 10 Minuten vor unserer Auftrittszeit als Opener! Aufbauen mussten wir übrigens auch noch - habe dann festgestellt, dass man mit Hasskappe sogar noch härter trommeln kann, herzlichen Dank!

Q: Das freundlichste Personal trafen wir an in ...
A: ...Pratteln/Schweiz. Das Z7 ist in jeder Hinsicht immer eine Reise wert. Super ist's auch im Siegburger Kubana und bei eigentlich allen amtlichen Festivals - Profis machen Freude

Q: Hast du schon jemals die Busabfahrt verpasst? Falls ja: Was hast du da gemacht?
A: Bisher haben wir es immer einigermaßen pünktlich zum Venue, Flughafen oder - in dieser Band besonders wichtig - zum Essen geschafft


ACHTUNG: Dieses Interview fand vor der Krypteriatour im November/Dezember 2011 statt - auf dieser Konzertrutsche gab es natürlich einiges, das Erwähnung im Tour Talk verdient hätte...positiv UND negativ.

Q: The most boring part of touring:
A: Boring? A tour???

Q: My anti-boredom recipe on tour:
A: It's all in my head

Q: The worst part of touring is
A: The bass player nonstop goofing around

Q: The best part of touring is
A: Anytime the bass player shuts up

Q: Nightliner or hotel?
A: Whatever the job requires

Q: Club or festival show?
A: Both

Q: I never go on tour without:
A: Tar and feathers for the bass player

Q: An absolute no-no aboard our tour bus:
A: Deliberately messing up somebody else's sleep

Q: My most memorable on-stage experience:
A: At Wacken - 60.000 hands in the air already during our intro

Q: My most embarrassing moment off stage:
A: Losing consciousness at the airport in Mexico City. Of course, your honor, it happened because of the altitude not because of some kind of beverage I might or might not have consumed during the flight - that would have been totally irresponsible and wrong, right?

Q: The best thing that happened to me on tour:
A: What happens on the road stays on the road

Q: The most underestimated member of this band:
A: Our bassist Frank - a real nutcase, but boy, that cat can play!

Q: Our worst ever tour bus:
A: Nothing beats the ,,hotel" at the Metalcamp in Slovenia

Q: The worst catering situation ever:
A: I'd rather give kudos to some of the best in the business: Hamburg/Docks, Dortmund/FZW, Pratteln/Z7, Gampel/CH, Seoul/Catchlight. That said, the vast majority of promoters by now seem to recognize the value of a good meal for the artist

Q: The most horrific venue we ever played:
A: The venue is just fine, but playing a Christmas festival at the Outback in Bad Arolsen is not exactly the smartest idea. Particularly when there's snowstorms raging outside and you have to change in the loading area because all backstage rooms are locked

Q: The most disgusting facilities we ever encountered:
A: At the Nummirock Open Air in Kauhajoki/Finland...holy crap!!!

Q: My worst experience entering another country happened in...
A: ...Ho Chi Minh City/Vietnam. The amount of heavily armed and determinded looking military personnel at the airport the first time we went to Vietnam wasn't too comortable a sight to begin with - then having the bass player engage in his trademark buffoonery really had us wondering if we'd ever make it out of there unscathed!

Q: The coolest personnel:
A: The crew at the Z7, Pratteln/Switzerland. Overall this is simply a great place to play, just like the Kubana in Siegburg

Q: Did you ever miss the lobby call or the bus call?
A: No bad experiences in that department - as long as there's food to be had this band will never be late
